The words of His Holiness are a source of inspiration to many organizations and thus were the seeds sown for Sri Sri Ayurveda.
The work of “Panchkarma Ayurveda Treatment Centre”, under the aegis of VVM De-addiction Reearch Centre in Kolkata / Howrah, was initiated with the support of Sri Sri Ayurveda (SSA).
SSA Bangalore is a division of Ved Vignan Maha Vidya Peeth (a non-profitable Educational Charitable Trust) founded by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
The Treatment Centre
Panchkarma treatments are the sheet anchor of Ayurveda. It includes various therapies designed to assist the body in the internal cleansing process by eliminating the toxins, wastes and other excesses to bring supportive forces of life the “Tridoshas” into balance.
Shirodhara
It is a wonderful relaxation process. It relieves one from mental disturbances, stress, loss of sleep, headache, craving for addictive substances.
Uzhichil
It is a deep massage of the whole body with application of special oils for maintaining a stress-free body and mind. It relieves body pain, mascular pain / sprain, fatigue, loss of sleep, joint pains, Osteo-arthritis, etc.
Nasyam
It is the administration of medicated oils through the nostrils. This improves sensory perceptions and avoids the graying and falling of hair. It relieves headache, facial paralysis, chronic cold or sinusitis and pain in and around shoulder joints. It also helps in eye and ear problems.
Shirolepa
Helps to cure diseases of the scalp and skin, stabilizes the nervous system and activates the mind as well as all the vital organs of the body.
Swedana
It is the sweating therapy to open pores and channels of the body in order to release ama (toxins) easily.
Kati Vasti
A special treatment for chronic low back pain.
Marma Therapy
It is an age old technique of healing in which simple touch or light massage on the vital points of the body, the marmas, is used to balance the life force called prana.
Kabala
It is useful in strengthening the teeth and cures the diseases of the mouth.
Greeva Vasti
It reduces the pain around neck and shoulder region.
Netra Tarpana
In this process the eyes are immersed in medicated Ghee up to the eyelashes. It is very effective in treating diseases of the eye and in poor vision.
